YAY! another summer dress

Hello, all!

Maybe you guys have realized by now…..I love dresses!  I always have.  I love making them and wearing them.

YAY!  Another summer dress from the Hawaiian prints.

I have this retro pattern (Simplicity #1101) cut out in the pink floral.  I love the high neckline in the front and the criss-cross in the back.  Hopefully, I will finish it this week and post a photo (fingers crossed!)

Summer Dresses

Hello, all!

 .

I hope your summer is going nicely.  I spend a lot of time at the beach during the summer.  I love simple, fun dresses to throw on with my flip-flops.  This is another one of the dresses I completed out of the fabric I purchased in Hawaii last year.  I made these dresses for just that; I throw them on with flip-flops to run to the supermarket, to take a walk on the beach, or over my swimsuit mid-day to grab a bite to eat before relaxing back at the beach.   This dress is a halter dress (Simplicity A2884), it has a little boning in the back, a side zip and slightly gathered skirt, with a tie at the neck.

Return from hiatus!

Hello, all!  I realize I haven’t posted in a while, however, that doesn’t mean I haven’t been sewing. My official photographer/assistant (aka, my teenage daughter) has’nt been around much lately to take pictures.  I started on my spring/summer sewing and completed a few of the dresses I planned to make from the fabric I purchased while vacationing in Hawaii last summer.  This dress was so easy to make, I’ve had the pattern around for a few years (Burda #7225).  It has a side zip and pockets (I didn’t add the pockets). I love wearing it!  It is easy and fun with sandals or flip-flops.

Spring Fever!

So, I spent some time at the beach this weekend soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the warm weather.  I returned Monday night with Spring Fever!

I really want to start my summer sewing, and I have these fabulous tropical prints that I purchased  when my family and I vacationed in Hawaii last summer.  I can’t wait to use this Kwik Sew pattern #K3610,  to make a few new sundresses for the beach.

However, summer sundresses will have to wait another week (I can’t believe I just said that???).

I am so excited to attend the Sewing Expo in Washington next week, and the national weather meteorologist tells me that it is still very cold in Washington  🙁 , therefore, I think I will sew a new coat for the occasion.

My last issue of Sew News featured the Clare coat (Closet Case Patterns) with three-quarter length sleeves (I LOVE three-quarter length sleeves).  Furthermore, I also plan to make it in the fuchsia color as well.

Hello, all!

Hi I’m Tina Annette,

I love to sew and I love all things vintage; especially fashion from the 1950’s and 1960’s.  I sew from modern and vintage patterns.  I get excited over finding and purchasing vintage patterns!    Sew Fabulous is my place to document my sewing projects and how I style my handmade pieces into my daily life.

Feel free to leave a comment, I will read all of them.
